Hayfa Algwaiz
b. 1991, Saudi Arabia — lives and works in Riyadh

Hayfa Algwaiz is a painter whose practice is informed by her training in architecture. Working across painting, drawing, and spatial media, her work examines memory, absence, and the experience of place.

Characterized by strategies of removal, redaction, and partial visibility, Algwaiz's compositions explore how environments are perceived and reconstructed. Her work moves between interior and exterior spaces, reflecting on the relationship between personal and collective experience, and addressing themes of domesticity, cultural identity, and modernization through a restrained and process-driven visual language.

Recent exhibitions include 5 Painters at Taymour Grahne Projects, Dubai (2026); Spaces We Keep at Dot Ateliers, Accra (2025); Relics of Tomorrow at Thaer Select, NYU Abu Dhabi (2025); and Pop Culture of the Saudi Home in the 20th Century at Ithra Museum, Dhahran (2025).
